  • History Of The Company

    TER History

    TER has been trading for over 60 years and has some of the most knowledgeable/experienced metrologists in the world. The management team consists of four people all of whom have been in the industry for over 25 years. Their goal is to build strong relationships with customers who cannot afford to take risks and who need to know that all their equipment is working correctly.

    At one point TER had many sites throughout the UK, however, there are massive inefficiencies and still unsolved issues with multiple sites and by the early 90s we had consolidated all of our engineering into a single site.

    Early in our history TER was the only independent calibration company to receive the highly regarded AQAP4 Full MOD Test House Status.

    We entered UKAS (formally NAMAS) with a vast array of parameters and continue to preach the benefits of UKAS to any company that is risk averse.

    TER was the first company in the UK to offer Online certification and equipment tracking via the Internet. We also offered an asset management system prior to the commercial formulation of the Internet.

    TER has stuck to its basic beliefs that rather than offering an average capability in a large range of parameters, we will become masters of the parameters that we do offer.

    TER Calibration Ltd was the result of the management buy-out in 2010.  The original owners had long since tired and retired.

    TER can provide on and offsite calibrations throughout the UK. Our vans cover the entire UK at least once per week. While our laboratories are now centralised in the North-West we still manage to offer 2 and 5 day turnaround.
